About David J Fox

Hey, glad you found my collection of musings! A place I've created to share the inner workings of my own head so I might spur conversations and meet more fascinating people.

If there's one thing the world is short on right now, it's time and attention. And so I'm hoping that by putting more of myself out there through these posts, stories, projects, wild machinations and unique perspectives... that I might earn enough intrigue to sit down and have a coffee with you sometime.

Excited to see where this adventure ends up!

Ah, that's right this is an about page... allow me to introduce myself as a character who walked into a tavern. *Ahem*

You see a male wearing spectacles with wooden arms, a trimmed beard, and passable fashion (though his shoes quite worn). As he sits down he introduces himself as David Fox, and pulls out a bag of d20s he takes everywhere he goes and gifts you one. He states it a keepsake he gives to all he meets.

My story (thus far) has been pretty wild, but the common thread is I absolutely adore building experiences and seeing people's eyes light up. To keep it short...

During the golden era of Flash gaming—for those who remember Newgrounds and Armor Games—I loved experimenting and building games (I even organized a conference!).

I've been part of the dev team for Google Chrome and helped found projects like the Web Almanac, aiming to help others more easily craft ideal experiences (because so many websites are a dreadful time).

I run the Hard Knocks podcast together with my Dad as we have long conversations with people on the tough lessons they've learned through life so listeners might share in their wisdom.

And for the past decade my day job is helping companies grow through marketing strategy, sales enablement, and doing crazy things with the help of AI.

Ah, yes. If the intro wasn't clear, my greatest hobby is being a Dungeon/Game Master, weaving tragic and heroic tales and adventures. I love recruiting more people into the hobby and sharing the lessons I've learned.
